Portable Fires Back at Bella Shmurda Over Music Collab Snub
Bella Shmurda: “No Connection With Portable”
Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda recently sparked controversy after stating he would never collaborate with fellow artist Portable. During an appearance on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast hosted by Isbae U, Bella explained that he sees no artistic connection between their music styles.
“I just don’t see the connection in the music. I don’t want wahala, I want peace,” Bella said.
The comment, particularly the reference to avoiding “wahala,” was widely interpreted as a jab at Portable’s well-known controversial lifestyle.
Portable Responds: “You Are a Failure”
In a fiery response via his Instagram page, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, dragged Bella Shmurda, branding him a failed artist. Clearly irritated by the snub, Portable warned Bella never to mention his name in interviews again.
“Anytime you wan do an interview, don’t mention my name again,” Portable said in the video.
He further questioned Bella’s relevance in the industry, boasting about his own international exposure and music career.
“You can’t feature me? I have been to America, London. No be who first blow o, na who dey blow dey go.
Which connection wan join me and you? You are a failure. I no dey roll or do music with failures.”
Ongoing Rift in the Music Industry
This isn’t the first time Portable has publicly clashed with fellow musicians. His reputation for stirring controversy has often overshadowed his music, yet he continues to maintain a dedicated fan base and consistent media presence.
The exchange has once again spotlighted the tension within Nigeria’s evolving music scene, where personal branding, street credibility, and musical alignment often define collaboration decisions.
