A group of women under the banner of United Women for Good Governance gathered at the National Assembly on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, demanding an apology from Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Carrying placards with messages such as “Apologise to the Senate President”, “We say no to Natasha’s serial blackmail”, and “Akpabio treated Natasha as a daughter and friend”, the protesters expressed their disapproval of the senator’s claims.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, recently accused Akpabio of sexually harassing her during a visit to his residence in December 2023 and again while discussing her motion on the Ajaokuta Steel Company. She has also previously alleged that the Senate President deliberately isolated her by altering her seating arrangement in the chamber.
