Wike’s Aide Mocks Amaechi Over 2027 Tinubu Defeat Claim
Lere Olayinka, Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ridiculed former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi for claiming he could defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Amaechi Says He Knows Tinubu’s Weaknesses
Amaechi, a former Rivers State governor, had stated during a public discussion on an X Space that he could beat Tinubu in 2027 because he is aware of the president’s political weaknesses.
Olayinka Labels Amaechi a “Jester”
Reacting in a post on X, Olayinka questioned Amaechi’s political credibility, citing his past losses to Wike despite holding powerful political positions at the time.
He wrote:
“Hungry man Amaechi was a sitting governor in 2015, when Wike defeated him.
Hungry man Amaechi was a minister in 2019, when Wike defeated him.
Hungry man Amaechi just left office as a minister in 2023, when Wike defeated him.
The same hungry man Amaechi is boasting that he knows how to defeat Tinubu, a sitting president.”
Olayinka also mocked Amaechi’s statement, recalling his defeat to Tinubu during the 2022 APC presidential primary.
“Me: Just the way he defeated Tinubu in the APC primary of 2022 nah. Alawada.com,” Olayinka quipped.
Political Tensions Ahead of 2027
The exchange adds to growing political tensions as politicians begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections. While Amaechi has not officially declared his candidacy, his remarks signal potential political battles within the opposition and ruling party.
