Wike Alleges N4 Billion Monthly Payout to Amaechi’s Wife, Urges Tinubu to Release NDDC Audit Report
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has accused former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi and his wife of benefiting from corrupt practices involving the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Wike claimed Amaechi’s wife received N4 billion monthly from the NDDC to train Niger Delta women, despite having no background in industry.

Wike described the alleged payments to Amaechi’s wife as a major scandal buried by the administration of former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and called on President Bola Tinubu to release the forensic audit report on the NDDC.
“Amaechi’s wife was not an industrialist. Every month, her company received N4 billion to train Niger Delta women. That’s N48 billion in a year,” Wike said.
“The forensic audit report proves it. Who killed the report? Malami did, to protect those involved. Mr President should help Nigerians by releasing that audit.”
Wike Vows to Resign if Claims Are Proven False
In a bold move, Wike said he would resign as FCT Minister if the forensic audit report is released and does not contain evidence implicating Amaechi or his wife.
“I am not just talking. Let the report be made public. If what I am saying is not there, I will resign from my position. I don’t worship office,” he added.
Wike emphasized that he is not questioning the credibility of the audit itself but insists that its contents be made public in the interest of accountability and justice.
Political Feud Deepens: Wike Takes Aim at Amaechi’s Credentials
The exchange follows Amaechi’s recent allegations of corruption against Wike. In response, Wike not only defended himself but also challenged Amaechi’s academic qualifications, describing them as “less than average.”
Wike also dismissed Amaechi’s claim that he was gifted a Rolls-Royce by a Senator and doesn’t use it, alleging instead that the luxury vehicle was provided by a contractor working on poorly executed projects in Rivers State.
“The car wasn’t from a Senator. It was from a contractor whose projects were almost zero in delivery. These are the people Amaechi was working with,” Wike said.
