A United States-based activist and media personality, Dr. Sandra Duru—popularly known as Professor Mgbeke—has publicly accused suspended Nigerian Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of orchestrating a plot to smear Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
In a lengthy Facebook Live broadcast on Thursday night, Dr. Duru presented what she described as damning evidence, including call logs and WhatsApp conversations, allegedly implicating Senator Natasha in a plan to falsely accuse Akpabio of sexual harassment and organ harvesting.
The revelations come amidst heightened controversy surrounding Natasha’s recent public accusations against the Senate President.
According to Duru, the senator allegedly offered her ₦200 million to publicly back the organ harvesting claims and tie them to the 2021 death of a young Nigerian woman, Iniubong Umoren. Duru said Natasha made the offer after her sexual harassment allegations failed to gain traction.
“Umoren died in 2021. Autopsy was done and there was no organ harvesting,” Duru stated. “One, there is no sexual harassment of any kind, two, there is no evidence of organ harvesting.”
Duru also revealed that she had submitted her evidence to U.S. authorities and other international agencies for forensic analysis.
She claimed that Natasha had previously denied any communication with her but refuted this by displaying what she described as WhatsApp messages and call records. “I already wrote the international agencies about a senator that claimed to have known something about the murder of a young lady and she kept it to herself,” Duru said, urging both Nigerian and international authorities to investigate.
In a scathing rebuke, the activist described her interactions with Senator Natasha as troubling:
“Natasha is not teachable, she lacks humility and moral values. She’s on a mission to destroy men. I cannot watch her destroy our sons and girls who follow her blindly. She even called Dr. Oby Ezekwesili a ‘useful idiot.’”
Perhaps most explosively, Dr. Duru claimed that Senator Natasha had confessed to using the allegations as part of a broader political scheme aimed at destabilizing the current administration.
“She said it’s not really about Akpabio. It’s about the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They don’t want a Yoruba government to go beyond four years.”
Duru further alleged that Natasha claimed she was promised either the governorship of Kogi State or the petroleum ministry if she succeeded in forcing Akpabio’s removal from office.
Calling for a full investigation, Dr. Duru urged the Nigerian Police Force, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and international law enforcement agencies to step in.
“The Nigerian Police should handle the case of Natasha and her false allegations. She said she wants to force the Senate President to step down so they can dismantle the current government.”
As of the time of reporting, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has not publicly responded to these new allegations.
