Tonto Dikeh Testifies at Streams of Joy Church
Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has publicly shared a deeply personal testimony of transformation and deliverance during a Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church, led by its founder, Pastor Jerry Eze.
The testimony was delivered during the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) service and later shared online in a video published by DCLImagery on YouTube.
Early Exposure and Years of Addiction
Smoking Began at Age 13
Speaking before the congregation, Dikeh revealed that she began smoking at the age of 13, a habit she said continued for about 27 years. She attributed the early exposure to her home environment and warned parents about the long-term impact of harmful habits on children.
“I started smoking because my dad was a smoker. Something as little as that habit can inhabit the lives of your children,” she said.
Alcohol and Spiritual Struggles
The actress also spoke about struggling with alcohol addiction and long-standing spiritual challenges, which she said affected her peace and personal life for many years. According to her, the turning point came after consistent prayers and participation in NSPPD gatherings.
Spiritual Turning Point After Ghana Prayer Conference
Dikeh said her experience at the Ghana Prayer Conference marked a major shift in her spiritual life, describing it as the moment years of oppression finally lifted.
“I realised that the weak man who held me captive all my years in my dream ran away,” she said, describing it as a clear sign of deliverance.
Overcoming Anger and Finding Peace
“Demonic Anger” and Its Impact
The actress also opened up about prolonged anger issues that once strained her relationships and affected her emotional wellbeing.
“An anger that destroyed my life. Everybody had to feel it,” she said.
She credited prayer and spiritual intervention through NSPPD for bringing lasting calm and emotional stability.
“I Have Never Known Peace Until Now”
Reflecting on her current state, Dikeh described experiencing peace for the first time in her life.
“I am 40 years old, and I can tell you I have never known peace until now. I am living in it,” she told the congregation.
Freedom from Urges and New Beginning
According to Dikeh, her habits no longer have any hold on her, as she no longer experiences cravings for cigarettes or alcohol.
“My body does not ask for it. My body is repelling it. Today, it is broken,” she said.
Pastor Jerry Eze later prayed for the actress, declaring that “the body of sin is broken” and describing her as “a voice in her generation.”
Following the service, Dikeh shared photos from the church on her Instagram page with the caption:
“A living testimony of mercy. One God spared, restored, and commissioned.”
In recent months, the actress has been increasingly vocal about her renewed Christian faith, describing her journey as one marked by peace, restoration, and commitment to serving God.
