The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has asserted that the policies introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration are beginning to show positive results.
Speaking at the 4th edition of the 2025 ministerial briefing, which featured Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Ahmed, Idris emphasized the administration’s progress. The ministers provided updates on key achievements and developments under their respective portfolios.
Idris commended the media for its dedication to covering the briefing sessions, acknowledging its role in keeping Nigerians informed about government policies and achievements.
He noted that Nigeria is at a crucial point as Tinubu pushes forward with bold and transformative reforms aimed at laying the groundwork for a stronger future. Citing historical examples, he pointed out that significant reforms often come with challenges but ultimately lead to long-term progress.
“The initial difficulties that accompany these changes are the price we must pay for a more stable and prosperous future,” Idris said.
He expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their patience and belief in Tinubu’s vision, assuring them that the difficulties caused by the reforms are gradually easing.
“These reforms are not just necessary; they are already producing tangible results. We are seeing a reduction in food prices, stability in exchange rates, and a gradual decrease in petroleum costs—clear signs that our efforts are paying off,” he added.
Idris also called on religious leaders to use the sacred periods of Ramadan and Lent to pray for national peace, security, and progress.
“I urge our Muslim and Christian leaders to offer prayers for Nigeria’s success during this period of fasting and reflection. With unity, faith, and collective effort, we will emerge stronger and more resilient, paving the way for lasting prosperity,” he concluded.
