President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday met with Massad Boulos, the U.S. State Department’s Senior Advisor for Africa, in Paris, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s international alliances.
According to a statement from the U.S. State Department, the meeting focused on regional security, including collaborative efforts to build durable peace in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). They also discussed opportunities to expand economic cooperation across Africa—highlighting shared interests in trade, development, and stability.
Massad Boulos, a Lebanese-American businessman with decades-long ties to Nigeria, is also the father-in-law of Tiffany Trump, daughter of current U.S. President Donald Trump, making him part of the Trump family.
The meeting carries added diplomatic weight, especially with Trump back in the White House. It signals Nigeria’s strategic engagement with Washington at a high level, particularly on issues that affect West and Central Africa.
President Tinubu’s engagement with global partners continues to position Nigeria as a central player in regional security and continental economic growth.
