President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence in the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to drive national development and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s growth.
Speaking at the APC Caucus meeting on Tuesday at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu reiterated his commitment to the party’s Renewed Hope manifesto. He emphasized the nation’s potential to shape Africa’s future, highlighting the importance of food sovereignty in strengthening Nigeria’s position on the continent.
“We have the capacity to steer the future of this country and make a difference. Nigeria is a great African nation that can help build and uplift the continent,” Tinubu stated.
The president expressed optimism about the country’s trajectory, insisting that the days of uncertainty were behind and that better times lay ahead.
“Our nation is on the path to progress. The gloom is over, and we are looking toward a brighter future for our people,” he said.
Addressing concerns over some of his administration’s policies, Tinubu defended the removal of fuel subsidies, arguing that retaining them would have harmed the country’s economy and limited the government’s ability to implement beneficial programs.
“Our commitment to delivering on our promises remains strong, despite the pessimism and misinformation spread by critics,” he affirmed.
Tinubu urged APC members to remain patient and steadfast as the administration works towards strategic national repositioning.
“Our focus is on building upon our successes and advancing an agenda that aligns with the aspirations of Nigerians. I assure you, we are committed to progressive governance and the principles of our manifesto,” he added.
The president also commended APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, for his leadership and the party’s electoral successes.
“You have done an outstanding job leading the party. Your efforts have been recognized, and we take pride in your achievements,” Tinubu remarked.
Meanwhile, Senator Abdulaziz Yari (APC-Zamfara West) noted during the meeting that the security situation in Zamfara had significantly improved.
