Tinubu Orders Federal Jobs, ₦250K Awards for 200 Exceptional NYSC Members
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate employment of 200 former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members into the federal civil service and cash awards of ₦250,000 each, recognizing their outstanding service between 2020 and 2023.
The announcement was made in Abuja during the NYSC Honours Award Ceremony, where Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, delivered the President’s remarks.
Special Recognition for Physically Challenged Corps Members
In a move toward inclusive recognition, 10 physically challenged ex-corps members who sustained injuries while serving the country will also be offered federal employment.

Postgraduate Scholarships for All Awardees
Beyond the financial and employment incentives, President Tinubu announced scholarships for all honorees to pursue postgraduate studies in Nigerian universities. The move aligns with the administration’s focus on youth empowerment through education and innovation.

NYSC’s Impact on National Development
Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, praised the role of corps members in delivering free rural healthcare, promoting education, and contributing to technology and voter education.
In 2025 alone:
6,000+ medical corps members delivered healthcare to over 4 million Nigerians in underserved communities.
Over 250,000 corps members were trained in entrepreneurship and tech skills.
He also expressed optimism over the NYSC Trust Fund Bill, which he believes will boost post-service job creation and access to capital.
