Tems to Perform at First-Ever FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show
Nigerian Star Tems to Share Stage with Global Icons at FIFA Event
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems is set to make history this July as she joins international superstars J Balvin and Doja Cat to perform at the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup Final.
The groundbreaking event is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the iconic MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
A Global Moment for Football, Music, and Education
This historic halftime show is part of a major partnership between FIFA and Global Citizen, aimed at raising $100 million through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The initiative will support quality education and football access for children around the world.
Speaking on her inclusion, Tems said:
“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children.”
J Balvin and Doja Cat Also Set to Headline
Latin music icon J Balvin expressed pride in representing his culture on such a massive global stage:
“From Medellín to MetLife. I’m honoured to headline the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final.”
Doja Cat, known for her electric performances, rounds out the lineup. She has previously headlined Global Citizen concerts in Paris and New York.
Tems’ Second Major Global Citizen Appearance
This performance marks Tems’ second collaboration with Global Citizen, following her memorable set at the Global Citizen Festival: Accra in 2022. Her return to the stage under the Global Citizen banner cements her growing international influence.
2025 Club World Cup: Biggest Yet
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be the most expansive in history, with 32 clubs competing across 12 stadiums in 11 American cities from June 14 to July 13. Organisers expect this year’s final to become the most-watched club football match ever.
As part of the education fund initiative, $1 from every ticket sold will go to the Global Citizen Education Fund, announced in April by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans.
“This fund brings together football and music to create lasting change for children globally,” Evans stated.
Looking ahead, Global Citizen will also produce the halftime show for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
