Swiss Authorities Arrest Bar Co-Owner Following Deadly Fire
Swiss police have arrested a co-owner of Le Constellation bar amid the investigation into the deadly New Year’s Eve fire in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. The blaze, which occurred on 31 December 2025, claimed 40 lives and left more than 100 injured, making it one of the worst fires in recent Swiss history.
Authorities say the arrest, made on Friday, 9 January 2026, is part of an ongoing investigation into possible negligence and violations of safety regulations at the popular bar. The co-owner, Jacques Moretti, was taken into custody while his wife remains under judicial supervision.
