Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has reaffirmed her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
She stated that despite mounting pressure from various quarters to issue an apology, she remains resolute in her decision to expose and substantiate her claims.
In a statement released in Abuja on Monday, Akpoti-Uduaghan reiterated her commitment to seeking justice, both for herself and her constituents.
“I, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, stand firm in my resolve to never apologise for speaking my truth. The desperation to silence me is palpable, but I will not be intimidated,” she declared.
She accused powerful individuals of attempting to suppress her voice and vowed to expose what she described as the corruption within Nigeria’s political institutions.
“The games being played in full view of the Nigerian people will be exposed, and the corrupt individuals who have hijacked our institutions will be held accountable,” she added.
The senator also condemned her six-month suspension from the Senate, asserting that it was an attempt to silence her. However, she insisted that the move had only strengthened her determination to defend the rights of Nigerian women.
Furthermore, she urged Nigerians to disregard reports claiming she had apologised, dismissing them as false.
