Rivers State Crisis: Security Forces Allegedly Fire at Ijaw Youths Amid Wike-Fubara Feud

Tensions flared in Rivers State over the weekend as security forces, allegedly acting on orders from Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, reportedly fired shots and tear gas at Ijaw youths and supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

At least three people were injured in the chaos, which erupted over a disputed venue for an event organized by the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC). The violence underscores the escalating political rivalry between Wike and Fubara.
