The Rivers State House of Assembly has formally asked the Chief Judge of the state to constitute a panel to investigate allegations of misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
The resolution was adopted through a unanimous vote of the lawmakers, who also pledged to pursue the impeachment process to its conclusion.

The request was made during plenary, as the House intensified steps outlined under constitutional provisions governing the impeachment of a governor and deputy governor.
Lawmakers said the decision reflected the collective position of the Assembly following allegations brought before it.
Speaker confirms House resolution
Speaker of the House, Martin Amaewhule, while addressing the chamber, said the vote clearly reflected the will of the legislature.
“This voting clearly shows the decision of the House,” Amaewhule said in his appeal to the Chief Judge.
