Rivers APC Chairman Tony Okocha Demands Governor Fubara’s Resignation or Impeachment

The Tony Okocha-led All Progressives (APC) in Rivers State has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to either step down or face impeachment by the State House of Assembly.

Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt on Monday, Okocha accused the governor of mismanaging the state and claimed that his administration has plunged Rivers into crisis.

According to Okocha, Fubara has only two choices—resignation or impeachment—alleging that the Supreme Court’s ruling suggested the state lacks a functional government due to multiple infractions committed by the governor. He described these infractions as grounds for impeachment.

Okocha further asserted that Fubara no longer holds the authority to summon Assembly members for discussions.
