Remita upgrades platform as JAMB 2026 registration opens
Remita, one of Nigeria’s leading fintech companies, has announced measures to ease the registration process for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions as registration opens for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry programmes.
The company said its upgraded platform is designed to help candidates and their families navigate the digital registration process more efficiently, particularly in securing JAMB ePINs, a key step in the admission process.
Easier, more transparent ePIN payments
In a statement issued on Friday, Remita disclosed that the upgrade reduces friction in the payment process and improves digital connectivity between students, families, and institutions involved in registration.
Through its website and mobile app, candidates and parents can now pay for JAMB services directly, track transactions in real time, obtain original receipts, and earn rewards on every payment. The company said the process is secure, efficient, and eliminates the need for third-party intermediaries.
Support extended to schools and training centres
Remita also said it is supporting trusted partners across the education ecosystem, including schools and training institutions, by enabling them to process ePINs seamlessly within their own systems.
According to the company, this approach reduces operational stress for institutions and protects candidates from exploitation during the registration process.
Executives speak on education access
Executive Director of Business Development at Remita, Abayomi Oniku, said the company views education as a critical national investment.
“Education is the greatest investment in Nigeria’s tomorrow, and Remita will continue to ensure that payments are a bridge, never a barrier to opportunity,” Oniku said.
Head of Digital Assets and Partnerships, Alisa Chinedu, said the 2026 upgrade focuses on usability and guided support for candidates.
“This year, we are making the JAMB ePIN experience more intuitive and more human through our AI assistant and stronger partnerships with trusted institutions and stakeholders that guide students toward a prosperous future,” she said.
Commitment to digital access
Remita said the initiative aligns with its broader commitment to financial inclusion, digital access, and economic participation. The company described itself as a designated significant national payments and digital public infrastructure provider, connecting individuals and institutions through reliable payment systems used in Nigeria and abroad.
