President Trump Orders Probe Into Kamala Harris’s Use of Celebrity Endorsements
U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday announced plans to launch a “major investigation” into his 2024 election rival, Kamala Harris, over allegations that her campaign paid celebrities for endorsements disguised as entertainment services.
“Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter.”
Harris Campaign’s Star Power Faces Scrutiny
During her campaign, Harris drew significant support from high-profile celebrities including Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, and Bruce Springsteen. However, Trump is now questioning whether these endorsements were purchased.
Oprah’s production company reportedly received $1 million from Harris’s campaign. Her team defended the payment, stating it covered production and hosting costs for an event featuring the candidate. Meanwhile, Harris’s team denied a widely circulated rumor that $10 million was paid to Beyonce for a rally appearance.
Campaign finance reports show only a single $75 endorsement-related expense, directed to an environmental advocacy group.
Trump Blasts Springsteen and Harris Over Rally Appearance
President Trump also criticized legendary rock star Bruce Springsteen, asking:
“How much did Kamala Harris pay Bruce Springsteen for his poor performance during her campaign for president?”
“Why did he accept that money if he is such a fan of hers?”
Trump and Springsteen have traded jabs in recent weeks after the musician told a UK audience that the U.S. is now run by a “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration.” In response, President Trump called Springsteen “highly overrated.”
Harris Defeated, Trump Re-Elected in 2024
Despite the celebrity endorsements, Harris was defeated in the 2024 election. President Trump secured a second term in office, bolstered by a coalition of conservative voters and support from right-wing media and influencers, including podcast host Joe Rogan.
