The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has raised a strong alarm over the persistent bloodshed across parts of Nigeria, particularly in states like Plateau and Benue, expressing deep dismay at the silence of those in positions of authority.
Speaking during a special service at the Glory Dome in Abuja, Pastor Enenche recounted a harrowing phone call he received just before the service. The call, he said, came from a village pastor in one of the affected communities, who described scenes of horror where entire families were wiped out and innocent children were murdered in their sleep.
In an emotionally charged address to his congregation, Enenche condemned the seeming indifference of Nigerian leaders to the killings, questioning why the shedding of innocent blood has become so normalized in the country.
“Blood is flowing like water in Plateau State, Benue State, and other places,” he lamented. “What evil did we commit in this country to deserve this level of violence without a lasting solution?”
He shared the disturbing scenario of farmers being attacked for merely defending their lands.
“You plant cassava, and they come to uproot it to feed their animals. You ask why, and the response is bloodshed — right on your ancestral land,” he said.
The fiery cleric stressed that the silence from national leaders has become even more disturbing than the violence itself, calling it a betrayal of the people’s trust.
“When will we have people in government who truly have a heart for the people? When will lawmakers rise and pass legislation that protects lives and restores peace?” he asked.
Enenche also narrated an encounter with a former security officer who confessed that he no longer feels safe travelling to his own village due to escalating attacks and banditry along major roads.
He urged the government to take urgent and decisive action to address the worsening security situation, warning that continued silence and inaction would only deepen the national crisis.
“This is not just about politics — it’s about human lives. About children being slaughtered in their sleep. The time to act is now,” Enenche declared.
