Human Remains Found in Vehicle on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Operatives of the Federal Highway Patrol attached to the Oyo State Police Command have recovered a red cloth containing bones and other items suspected to be human remains from a vehicle on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The discovery was made during a routine stop-and-search operation near Guru Maharaji Village, the Oyo State Police Command said in a statement on Sunday.
Suspect Apprehended
The driver, Kazeem Ayegbo, who was travelling from Lagos to Osogbo, was arrested during the operation. Police said a search of the vehicle revealed the concealed items among passengers’ luggage.
Investigation Underway
According to DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, investigations have begun to determine the origin and intended purpose of the recovered items. Efforts are ongoing beyond Oyo State to identify and apprehend all persons connected to the incident.
“The suspect will be charged in court upon conclusion of the investigation,” the statement said.

The Oyo State Police Command assured residents that the case is being handled professionally and with diligence. The Command urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by providing timely and credible information to maintain peace and security in the state.
