Osogbo, Osun State – APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed unshakable confidence in his victory in the 2026 election, comparing his campaign to a penalty shot at a goalpost without a goalkeeper.
Speaking with youths from Osun’s three senatorial districts in Osogbo on Friday, Oyebamiji highlighted the vital role of young voters and promised programs tailored to their needs.
“We conducted a demographic analysis of the 2022 election and found that party members voted 300,000, with youths comprising 210,000 of that number. I respect the youth immensely, and by God’s grace, there will be special programs for you starting very soon,” he said.
“No Competitor, Only APC”
In a metaphorical statement, Oyebamiji said:
“God has given us a goal post and penalty without a goalkeeper.”
He urged party members to engage in grassroots campaigning, adding:
“Let us go to our ward and begin house-to-house, door-to-door. I don’t have a competitor. APC does not have a competitor.”
The candidate assured youths that his administration would provide the resources and support necessary for their success.
“We are serious about this assignment. We are taking over by the grace of God,” Oyebamiji said, encouraging youths to remain committed and active in the campaign.
Youth Leaders Call for Inclusion
State youth leader Goke Akinwemimo called on Oyebamiji to maintain a focus on youth participation if elected governor. He praised former governor Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola for promoting youth involvement and urged the APC candidate to continue the momentum into governance.
