Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private investor to inject N15 billion into the Young Ranchers Agricultural Cluster Development Programme.
This initiative aims to promote youth-oriented agriculture in each of the state’s three senatorial districts.
The programme will establish agricultural clusters in each senatorial district, with the state-owned higher institutions serving as pilot beneficiaries.
Land Cultivation: The investors will cultivate five hectares of land in each cluster, focusing on practical farming and training for young people and students.
Benefits for Host Institutions: Each host institution will receive a percentage of the proceeds from the programme’s operations.
Practical Training: The initiative will provide practical training for students in agriculture and related operations, empowering them with hands-on experience.
This programme is expected to boost agricultural productivity, promote food security, and support the economic development of Ondo State.
