Ogun Police Arrest Rider With Three Human Skulls

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Kadir Owolabi, a motorcycle rider, for allegedly being in possession of three human skulls.

Arrest During Stop-and-Search

According to the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, the arrest occurred on Monday, August 11, 2025, around 2:00 p.m.. Officers from the 71 PMF Awa Ijebu were conducting a routine stop-and-search at the Refugees Camp Junction along the Ijebu Ode–Ibadan Expressway when they intercepted Owolabi.

A search of his belongings revealed three human skulls concealed in his luggage.

Second Suspect in Custody

Following the arrest, police investigations led to the apprehension of Jamiu Yisa, 53, at a location behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat. He is believed to be connected to the case.

CID to Lead Investigation

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case and carry out a discreet, thorough investigation.

Police Appeal to the Public

The command has urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and has assured confidentiality and protection for anyone with useful information.

Broader Concerns

This arrest comes amid rising incidents involving human body parts in southwestern Nigeria. In recent months, similar arrests have been made in Osun and Ogun States, fuelling fears of ritual-related crimes linked to “get-rich-quick” beliefs.
