NNPCL pumps raise petrol prices following Dangote Refinery’s increase
Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) retail stations have increased petrol prices above one dollar per litre in Abuja and nearby areas, following the latest adjustment by Dangote Refinery.
NNPCL outlets now sell petrol at N1,367 per litre, up from N1,261, marking a N106 rise. At the official foreign exchange rate of N1,353.90 per dollar, this pushes domestic fuel prices above the $1 mark.
The hike follows Dangote Refinery’s recent increase from N1,070 to N1,245 per litre, attributed to rising global crude oil prices, which have surpassed $110 per barrel. The adjustment triggered a ripple effect on retail fuel prices across the country.
Other refinery-backed outlets, including MRS, have also raised pump prices, with rates now ranging from N1,367 to N1,440 per litre.
This latest increase marks the fourth consecutive adjustment by Dangote Refinery in recent weeks, highlighting the ongoing pressures on fuel supply and the rising cost of transportation for Nigerians.
