Nicki Minaj declares herself Trump’s ‘number one fan,’ backs child investment programme

American rap icon Nicki Minaj has publicly declared her loyalty to United States President Donald Trump, describing herself as his “number one fan” and saying criticism against him only strengthens her support.

Minaj made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., a government-backed event promoting a new child investment programme introduced by the Trump administration.

The 43-year-old Trinidadian-born artiste was invited on stage by President Trump after announcing her support for Trump Accounts, a policy initiative that provides government-funded investment accounts for children born in the United States between 2025 and 2028.

“I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change,” Minaj told the audience.
“And the hate or what people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”

She added that she would not allow Trump’s critics to intimidate or bully him, insisting that the president remains protected despite sustained opposition.

“He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him. Amen,” she said.

Support for Trump Accounts

The Trump Accounts programme is designed to give every eligible child a $1,000 government seed investment, which can grow through additional private contributions and investment returns until the child turns 18.

At the event, Minaj announced plans to personally contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the initiative, saying she intends to help fund accounts for children connected to her fan base.

President Trump praised the rapper for her support, drawing applause from the audience and describing her as a strong voice for the programme.

Public reaction

Minaj’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters applauding her independence and critics questioning her political alignment. The moment quickly went viral, dominating entertainment and political discussions across social media platforms.

Her public endorsement marks a notable moment in the intersection of celebrity culture and US politics, as the Trump administration continues to court high-profile figures to promote its economic and social policies.
