Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has announced the facilitation of over ₦30 billion in federal intervention projects aimed at improving infrastructure, agriculture, and water management systems in Delta North and surrounding areas.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Senator Nwoko credited President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for making the interventions possible. According to the lawmaker, the projects are being funded through special presidential intervention funds, with implementation already underway.
“I am proud to announce that through President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, I’ve facilitated over ₦30 billion in projects aimed at transforming the lives of the people of Delta North and beyond,” Nwoko posted.
Major Infrastructure and Agricultural Projects Underway
Senator Nwoko highlighted key components of the projects, including significant work by the Benin-Owena River Basin Authority, with efforts concentrated on water treatment plants and reticulation systems linked to the completed Ogwashi-Uku Dam in Aniocha South.
In Aniocha North, the Idumuje Dam project has received a capital injection of over ₦7.5 billion, set to enhance water management and access across the area.
On agriculture, the Senator emphasized plans to bolster year-round farming through the expansion of irrigation systems, distribution of high-quality seedlings, fertilizers, and modern farming implements to local farmers—efforts geared towards boosting food security and rural development in the region.
Strong Ties With Tinubu’s Government
Nwoko noted that the successful rollout of the projects is largely due to his close working relationship with the presidency.
“These projects are not only a testament to my commitment to the people of Delta North but also a direct result of the strong relationship I have with President Tinubu and the Federal Government,” he added.
“Together, we will continue to build a prosperous and thriving Delta State.”
