Morocco goalkeeper Monir El Kajoui has declared that the Atlas Lions are fully prepared to secure victory against the Super Eagles of Nigeria when both sides clash in their AFCON semi-final showdown on Wednesday night.
Nigeria and Morocco will trade tackles by 8:00 pm Nigerian time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with a place in the final at stake.
The encounter marks Morocco’s first AFCON semi-final appearance in 22 years, while Nigeria are pushing for a spot in the final for the second consecutive edition, following their strong showing in the tournament.
Nigeria’s Firepower vs Morocco’s Belief
The Super Eagles have been one of the most entertaining sides at the tournament, driven by confidence, experience, and a strong competitive mentality that has seen them excel in decisive matches.
Head coach Éric Chelle’s side will rely heavily on their attacking stars, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, who have been instrumental in Nigeria’s run so far.
The duo has combined for seven goals in the competition, with Osimhen scoring four and Lookman adding three, making Nigeria one of the most dangerous attacking teams remaining.
Despite the threat, El Kajoui insists Morocco are unfazed.
“The Response Must Come on the Pitch” — El Kajoui
Speaking ahead of the clash, the Moroccan goalkeeper said his side is focused on delivering where it matters most.
“As players, we hear everything, but we know the real response must come on the pitch. We focus on our work, trust the coach and the group, and our objective is always to honour the national shirt and give our very best,” El Kajoui told CAFonline.
Backed by home support in Rabat, the Atlas Lions will be hoping to end Nigeria’s title charge, while the Super Eagles aim to maintain their momentum and edge closer to a fourth continental crown.
