Moniepoint Microfinance Bank (MFB) processed ₦412 trillion in transaction value across more than 14 billion transactions in 2025, according to its newly released 2025 Year in Review report.
The milestone capped a decade of operations for the Moniepoint Inc. subsidiary, which described the period as ten years of driving “financial happiness” for businesses across Nigeria.
In the same year, Moniepoint disclosed that Modify, its web payment gateway, handled transactions worth ₦25 trillion, reflecting rising adoption of its digital payment infrastructure by merchants and businesses nationwide.
The company said the scale of activity on its platforms demonstrates growing confidence among users and positions Moniepoint to support more large-scale business-to-business payments, as Nigeria works towards becoming a trillion-dollar economy by 2030.
Beyond payments, Moniepoint MFB said it disbursed over ₦1 trillion in loans to thousands of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, including neighbourhood provision stores, supermarkets, and building materials dealers. The bank currently serves more than six million active businesses.
According to the company, businesses that accessed its credit facilities recorded average growth of over 36 percent, underscoring Moniepoint’s role in unlocking expansion and deepening shared prosperity.
Moniepoint explained that it relies on alternative data such as transaction records, business behavior, and payment patterns to assess creditworthiness, enabling it to extend financing to businesses often excluded by traditional lending models.
Commenting on the milestone, Group Chief Executive Officer, Tosin Eniolorunda, said what began as an effort to solve overlooked problems has grown into a platform supporting the ambitions of millions of entrepreneurs.
He noted that with about 83 percent of Africa’s workforce operating in the informal economy, expanding financial access remains central to Moniepoint’s mission.
Looking ahead, Eniolorunda expressed confidence in the company’s direction, saying Moniepoint is entering its second decade with stronger partnerships, a scalable infrastructure, and renewed commitment to supporting Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
