APGA’s Mimi Azikiwe Secures Landslide Victory
The candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Mimi Azikiwe, has been declared winner of the just concluded Onitsha North Constituency 1 by-election in Anambra State.
Azikiwe recorded a landslide victory, securing 7,774 votes to defeat her opponents from other political parties, according to the official results announced.
Defeating ADC’s Justina Azuka
Azikiwe triumphed over Justina Azuka, the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and widow of Justice Azuka, who was abducted and brutally killed by armed men in 2024.
The seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly became vacant following the late lawmaker’s tragic death.

The returning officer for the by-election, Professor Ebien, officially declared Mimi Azikiwe the winner of the polls.
