The Mastercard Foundation has unveiled a new podcast, Transcending Boundaries – Conversations with Reeta Roy, aimed at inspiring and empowering the next generation of leaders to act with courage and purpose.
Hosted by Reeta Roy, President & CEO of the Mastercard Foundation, the podcast features candid conversations with influential global leaders, including former heads of state, human rights advocates, and social innovators. Through these discussions, the series explores the formative experiences, leadership journeys, and values that shaped some of the world’s most impactful changemakers.

The podcast debuts with an inspiring first episode featuring Nobel Laureate and former President of Liberia, Hon. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. A trailblazer in governance and women’s rights, Sirleaf shares insights into the experiences that shaped her leadership, the mentors who guided her, and the values that helped her navigate challenges and triumphs.
“I learned to remain strong in success while maintaining self-confidence in defeat,” said Sirleaf. “My mother’s resilience, her ability to provide and guide us toward education, was a foundation for my own strength and determination to create a better society.”
Launching on March 20, 2025, Transcending Boundaries is an eight-episode weekly series that delves into leadership, values, and transformation—critical themes in today’s world. The podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and the Mastercard Foundation’s website.
Future episodes will feature prominent guests such as former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour and former Irish President Mary Robinson, among others.
