Marriage ends after relocation abroad
A Nigerian man has shared a deeply personal account of how his marriage collapsed after he relocated to Europe, a situation that later ended in divorce and deportation.

Years of sacrifice to build a future
According to him, he married his wife with complete trust and genuine love, believing they were building a life together.
He described life in Europe as far from glamorous, explaining that survival required intense labour, long hours, and constant sacrifice.
He said he worked exhausting jobs that barely paid, often skipping meals and denying himself basic comfort, all to save money to bring his wife to Europe legally.
Visa approval and reunion
The man said his earnings went into immigration processes, including legal documentation, marriage papers, lawyers’ fees, and repeated appointments.
After months of effort, his wife’s visa was approved — a moment he described as one of the proudest of his life.
He recalled welcoming her at the airport, introducing her to his new city, and believing they were about to begin a peaceful family life.
Relationship changes after arrival
He claimed that things began to change after his wife settled in Europe.
According to him, she became distant and increasingly critical, often comparing him to other men and accusing him of not doing enough.
Despite the emotional strain, he said he remained patient, hoping the marriage would recover.
Police report and forced exit
The man said the situation escalated when police officers arrived at his home following a report made by his wife.
