Alleged dissolution of Pastor Chris Okafor’s Canada-based church
Claims have emerged online alleging that a Toronto-based church linked to Nigerian cleric Pastor Chris Okafor has been dissolved and is no longer legally permitted to operate in Canada.
The allegation surfaced in a video circulating on social media, where a man claimed that Greater Liberation City International Ministry Centre, said to be associated with the pastor, has been formally dissolved by Canadian authorities.
Immigration implications claimed
In the video, the speaker alleged that the church no longer exists legally in Canada and accused its operators of continuing activities despite the alleged dissolution.
He further claimed that a pastor associated with the ministry, identified as Bashiru Igbanor, also known as Pastor David Igbanor, should no longer remain in the country, alleging that his Canadian work permit was tied to the now-dissolved ministry.

According to the speaker, the alleged development should prompt Canadian immigration authorities to review the cleric’s status, insisting that he return to Nigeria to continue his religious activities.
“Greater Liberation City International Ministry Centre which is owned by Chris Okafor operating here in Toronto, Canada, has been dissolved. By law, they are no longer existing here in Canada,” the man said in the video.
“The work permit he is holding was based on this ministry that has been dissolved. This means he can no longer stay in this country,” he added.

The claims come amid ongoing controversy surrounding Pastor Chris Okafor following public allegations made against him by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, which have generated widespread debate online.
However, as of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation from Canadian authorities, immigration officials, Pastor Chris Okafor, or Greater Liberation City International Ministry Centre regarding the alleged dissolution of the church or the immigration status of any of its pastors.
