Daughter of Living Faith Church founder shares harrowing childhood experience involving armed intruders who were mysteriously unable to see her father.
Love Ogah, the daughter of renowned Nigerian clergyman and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed a startling childhood encounter involving an alleged assassination attempt on her father.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Ogah recounted the terrifying moment when a group of armed assailants stormed their family residence with the explicit mission to assassinate Bishop Oyedepo. The incident, which she said occurred during her secondary school years, remains one of the most vivid and surreal memories of her youth.
According to Ogah, the attackers boldly announced their intention upon gaining access to the home, stating clearly that they had come to take Bishop Oyedepo’s life. What followed was a tense and invasive search, as the intruders combed through the residence, moving from room to room in pursuit of the popular preacher.
“They came in, fully armed, and said they were sent to kill my father,” she said. “They searched everywhere, opened every door, went into every corner but they couldn’t find him.”
What shocked the family even more, she recalled, was what happened after the attackers left. Bishop Oyedepo emerged from his hiding place not because he had been hidden physically, but because, according to him, he had been standing in full view the entire time.
“My father came out and said he saw them as they searched,” Ogah shared. “He said he never moved, he stood in plain sight, but they couldn’t see him. It was like they were supernaturally blinded.”
The family, still in disbelief, processed the event as though it were a scene from a movie. Ogah described the experience as one that reaffirmed their faith and revealed the spiritual covering over her father.
