Kim Jong Un Pledges “Unwavering Support” for Putin
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has declared his unconditional support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). This comes as Pyongyang reportedly deploys thousands of troops to assist Russia in its nearly four-year conflict in Ukraine.

In a letter responding to Putin, Kim described their ties as the “most precious” and said North Korea would always respect and support all Russian policies and decisions, calling this stance “constant and permanent.”
Troops, Missiles, and Military Support
Intelligence reports from South Korea and Western sources indicate that North Korea has sent troops to fight for Russia. Alongside personnel, Pyongyang has supplied artillery shells, missiles, and long-range rocket systems.
Analysts say North Korea’s recent missile tests are intended to enhance precision strike capabilities, challenge the United States and South Korea, and prepare weapons for export to Russia.
Russia Sends Aid in Return
In exchange for Pyongyang’s support, Russia is reportedly providing financial aid, military technology, and essential food and energy supplies. Experts view this as a mutually strategic alliance that strengthens both nations amid global sanctions and international scrutiny.
Kim Calls the Alliance “Permanent”
Kim also highlighted that North Korea and Russia had shared “blood, life, and death” in the Ukraine war. He pledged that North Korea would stand with Russia at all times, emphasizing the permanence of their cooperation.
Putin, according to KCNA, praised the “invincible friendship” between the two countries.
