Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has announced the recruitment of 9,974 security guards as a proactive measure to prevent the destruction of government properties across the state.
Speaking at the passing-out parade of the first batch of security personnel at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Fanisau, Dutse, Governor Namadi emphasized that the initiative aims to safeguard critical public institutions, including schools, hospitals, courts, and water facilities.
He explained that the security personnel would be deployed through three indigenous private security companies, each assigned to different senatorial zones of the state.
“This initiative is meant to protect the investments made in public facilities. We have witnessed repeated vandalism, where criminals steal windows, furniture, and other essential materials from schools, courts, hospitals, and water projects. As a responsible government, we are taking decisive steps to prevent such losses,” the governor stated.
Governor Namadi urged the newly recruited security personnel to perform their duties with integrity and professionalism, assuring them of the government’s commitment to their welfare. He reiterated his administration’s dedication to protecting public infrastructure and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
