Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has announced she will no longer mediate in the ongoing rift between colleagues Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham following renewed tensions in the industry.
Ojo made this known in a post shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, where she addressed criticism over her involvement and clarified her past efforts to reconcile both actresses.
She disclosed that her relationship with Akindele spans several years, despite periods of disagreement, admitting that she once publicly criticised her over issues linked to Abraham’s movie.
According to Ojo, she later reconciled with Akindele and made deliberate efforts to settle the dispute between both parties, which temporarily restored peace and led to their public interactions months ago.

She explained that the reconciliation was based on an agreement that both actresses would avoid indirect remarks online and resolve conflicts privately. However, the arrangement broke down following controversy surrounding a cinema release in December, which reignited tensions after allegations of sabotage surfaced.
Ojo also addressed Abraham’s absence from her upcoming film, The Return of Arinzo, stating that the actress was initially part of the project but withdrew due to exhaustion and travel commitments, requiring last-minute adjustments to the production.
Despite her earlier intervention, Ojo said she has now stepped back completely, stressing that she no longer wishes to be involved and believes both parties will make peace when they are ready.
She also announced that The Return of Arinzo is scheduled to premiere in cinemas nationwide from April 3.
The development follows renewed public attention after a viral video from the film’s premiere at the Balmoral Event Centre in Lagos showed Abraham greeting colleagues, while Akindele appeared to avoid interaction, fuelling speculation about unresolved differences.
