Immigration Arrests Wanted Kidnap and Ritual Killing Suspect in Badagry
Suspect Identified as Obi Levi Obieze, Also Known as Levi Obu Onyeka
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), KN Nandap, has confirmed the arrest of Obi Levi Obieze, a suspected kidnapper and ritualist declared wanted by the Enugu State Police Command.
Obieze, also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, was apprehended by immigration officers while attempting to cross the Nigerian border into the Republic of Benin on a motorcycle.

Victim Rescued from Shrine Linked to the Suspect
According to multiple reports, the suspect who resides in Umuojor village in Isiagu Community, Enugu State is a known native doctor and was allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl earlier this week.
The young girl was abducted by three men while walking with her father to the farm. She was later rescued by Nigeria Police operatives from a shrine believed to be associated with the suspect.
Attempted Escape Foiled at Border
Suspect Caught at Gbaji Checkpoint on Badagry-Seme Road
In a statement issued on Thursday by the NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, it was revealed that the suspect was arrested at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme Road.
“He is currently in custody and his identity has been confirmed through a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip found in his possession,” the statement noted.
Confession and Next Steps
Suspect Admits Involvement During Interrogation
During preliminary questioning, Obieze allegedly admitted to the crimes linked to his name. The Nigeria Immigration Service has since initiated collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure the suspect’s formal handover and to support further investigation.
The NIS reaffirmed its commitment to national security and border surveillance in the ongoing effort to prevent cross-border crimes.
