The House of Representatives on Tuesday made a significant move toward establishing the Federal College of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition in Ntigha, Isiala Ngwa North, Abia State.
The proposed bill, which has now passed its second reading, aims to create an institution focused on equipping Nigerian youths with practical skills in technology, applied sciences, arts, social sciences, and management.
Sponsored by Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe, the bill addresses Nigeria’s rising youth unemployment crisis by promoting entrepreneurship and vocational education. The lawmaker emphasized that Ntigha’s strategic location makes it ideal for fostering innovation, job creation, and economic diversification.
If enacted, the college will provide specialized training in agriculture, technology, manufacturing, and digital innovation—aligning with Nigeria’s push for economic growth and self-reliance.
