Hilda Baci earns third Guinness World Record title
Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially become a three-time Guinness World Record holder after receiving confirmation that her 2025 jollof rice feat earned an additional global title.
The latest recognition expands her Guinness achievements and further cements her place among Nigeria’s most internationally recognised culinary figures.
How the new record emerged
Hilda, an Akwa Ibom State-born chef, first gained global attention in May 2023 when she broke the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
In September 2025, she broke another record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. She has now disclosed that the same achievement also qualifies as the world record for the largest serving of rice overall.
Guinness World Records confirms additional title
The confirmation was communicated to Hilda via an email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering – Records Creative Team at Guinness World Records.
The email stated: “Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing (again)! It has come to our attention when comparing record guidelines of the two record titles, that when you and your team attempted and achieved ‘Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice,’ you also achieved the record title of ‘Largest serving of rice.’”
Chef updates bio, reacts to milestone
On Tuesday, Hilda updated her Instagram bio to read: “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.”
She also shared her reaction in a post, writing: “Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026.”
Explaining how she discovered the news, Hilda said she was shocked when she saw the email months after the initial announcement.
“This morning, I was just doing my usual routine, casually scrolling through my emails, when I saw the message come in. I was shocked and happy at the same time, completely caught off guard,” she said.
She added that what she initially believed was a single record later turned out to be two, bringing her total Guinness World Records to three.
