Former Premier League manager Tim Sherwood has questioned Benjamin Šeško’s quality for Manchester United, insisting the striker is “not good enough” for the club despite scoring twice in a 2–2 draw against Burnley.
Sherwood made the remarks while working as a Sky Sports pundit during Wednesday night’s Premier League clash at Turf Moor.

Benjamin Šeško found the net twice as Manchester United played their first match following the departure of head coach Ruben Amorim.
Former United midfielder Darren Fletcher took charge on an interim basis, with Šeško’s goals helping the Red Devils rescue a point against a Burnley side currently battling relegation.
The brace represented a rare bright moment for the Slovenian striker, who has endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford since arriving six months ago.
Sherwood Acknowledges Goals but Maintains Criticism
Despite acknowledging Šeško’s impact on the scoresheet, Sherwood remained unconvinced about the striker’s overall suitability for Manchester United.
“I think the positive is Šeško scoring two goals. Hopefully, that helps him gain confidence. It’s been six months since he joined Manchester United, and I’m pleased for the kid,” Sherwood said.
The former Aston Villa manager also revealed he had previously been highly critical of Šeško’s performances.
“He’s been going through a really tough time, and I even said he should have left at half-time and never played for Manchester United again.”
‘I Stand by What I Said’ – Sherwood Doubles Down
Sherwood stressed that one strong performance against struggling opposition does not alter his stance.
“Look, give him some credit. Maybe he can build some confidence and we might start to see a different side of him,” he added.
“However, I stand by what I said — he’s not good enough to play for Manchester United. He’s played one game against Burnley, a team likely to be relegated.”
Still, Sherwood ended his assessment on a lighter note, joking that Šeško’s display might influence his fantasy football choices.
“Hopefully, he gains confidence and we start to see improved performances. I might even add him to my fantasy football team now!”
