Hajj 2025 Airlift Begins for Nigerian Pilgrims
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has commenced the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj, with the first official flight departing from Imo State.
First Batch Departs from Imo Amid Prayers and Celebration
In a symbolic kickoff, the first set of pilgrims was airlifted from the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, Imo State. The pilgrims, dressed in white Ihram garments, departed in high spirits, marking the beginning of their sacred journey to Mecca.
Over 64,000 Nigerians to Perform the 2025 Hajj
NAHCON confirmed that over 64,000 Nigerian pilgrims are expected to participate in this year’s Hajj. The Commission has collaborated with federal and state governments, airlines, and Saudi authorities to ensure a seamless operation across all departure zones.
Nationwide Airlift Schedule Underway
Flights will continue over the coming days from designated Hajj departure centers, including Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, and Maiduguri. NAHCON has urged pilgrims to adhere strictly to their flight schedules and travel protocols.
