FRSC Orders Legal Action Against Tiktoker Peller
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has ordered immediate legal action against popular Nigerian Tiktoker, Peller, following a recent car crash that sparked widespread outrage on social media.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon and has since drawn strong reactions from the public and regulatory authorities.
Alleged Deliberate Crash After Relationship Breakup
According to reports, Peller was allegedly involved in a deliberate car crash shortly after his girlfriend and fellow content creator, Jarvis, broke up with him.
A video of the incident later surfaced online, triggering condemnation from netizens who accused the influencer of reckless behaviour and called on authorities to withdraw his driver’s licence.
FRSC Directs Lagos Command to Prosecute
Reacting to the incident on Monday, the FRSC announced that it had directed its Lagos State Command to prosecute the TikTok star.
Offences Listed by FRSC
In a statement shared on X, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Muhammed, instructed that Peller be charged for the following offences:
Reckless driving
Use of phone while driving
Distracted driving
The FRSC stated that the prosecution would be carried out in line with existing traffic laws.
FRSC Warns Entertainment Industry
“Fame Does Not Confer Immunity” – FRSC
Beyond the individual case, the FRSC issued a broader warning to the entertainment industry.
Muhammed urged key stakeholders including the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), content creators, and entertainment associations to caution their members against the dangerous misuse of public roads for content creation or emotional displays.
“Fame does not confer immunity from the law, nor does it excuse dangerous behaviour on public roads,” the statement read.
Public Safety Comes First
The Corps reiterated that Nigerian roads are not venues for stunts, emotional outbursts, or content creation, stressing that such actions put lives at risk.
The case adds to growing concerns about the influence of social media fame on public safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws among celebrities and influencers.
