The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the disappearance of a black Toyota Hilux vehicle assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
According to sources, the vehicle was reportedly stolen on Friday, April 11, while an ONSA official was attending Juma’at prayers in Abuja. The official had parked the vehicle around 1:05 p.m. directly opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10 and proceeded to a nearby mosque for prayers. However, upon returning, the vehicle was nowhere to be found.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who first reported the incident on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that the case was swiftly reported to the Garki Police Division by 2:00 p.m., prompting immediate action by security operatives.
The FCT Police Command responded by launching a citywide stop-and-search operation, deploying officers to various checkpoints across major entry and exit points in the capital.
Police authorities have since confirmed the incident, assuring the public that a coordinated investigation is underway. Efforts are focused on tracking the missing vehicle and bringing those responsible to justice.
This incident has sparked fresh concerns over the security of government assets and the protocols in place to protect them during routine activities.
