The Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission (ESGC) has announced the removal of restrictions on gaming license renewals for operators in the state.
This development was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of ESGC, Prince Arinze Arum, in a statement released by the Commission’s Public Relations Officer, Nwanneka Udeh, on Thursday in Enugu.
According to Arum, the decision is part of key reforms aimed at modernizing the gaming industry, strengthening regulatory oversight, and promoting responsible gaming practices.
He further revealed that the Commission has introduced a new, technology-driven platform to facilitate faster and more convenient license renewals and other regulatory services.
“With the lifting of restrictions, gaming operators can now seamlessly renew their licenses through the newly launched Enugu State Gaming Regulatory Platform (ESGRP). This digital solution ensures quicker approvals, improved compliance monitoring, and a more secure licensing process,” Arum stated.
As part of its broader regulatory reforms, the ESGC has also introduced several initiatives, including the establishment of gaming offices in all 17 Local Government Areas to enhance industry oversight.
Additionally, the Commission has deployed Gaming Inspectors to ensure compliance, introduced official Gaming Approval Signages for licensed operators, and enforced the use of permanent structures for gaming outlets, phasing out makeshift stands.
Arum also announced the upcoming Rangers FC Dream Big Raffle and ESGC’s Good Cause Projects, which are set to launch in the coming months.
He emphasized that the newly developed Enugu State Gaming Regulatory Platform, created in partnership with Goflux Services Limited, will streamline licensing, automate compliance monitoring, and improve revenue collection through digital payment channels.
“This marks a significant transformation in the industry as we harness technology to enhance regulatory efficiency, boost revenue, and ensure fairness in gaming operations,” Arum added.
