Elon Musk Claims Sanctions on Ukrainian Oligarchs Could End Russia-Ukraine War Immediately

Elon Musk, leader of the U.S. Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), has suggested that the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia could stop immediately if the United States imposes sanctions on the top ten Ukrainian oligarchs.

He emphasized that restrictions should particularly target those who own mansions in Monaco.

Musk made this statement in a tweet via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday. His response came after an X user, @BasedMikeLee, questioned who funded the massive Ukrainian flag reportedly the world’s largest unfurled near the White House.

“Place sanctions on the top 10 Ukrainian oligarchs, especially the ones with mansions in Monaco, and this will stop immediately. That is the key to the puzzle,” Musk wrote.

This comes just days after Musk accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of prolonging the war to maintain power.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict began in February 2022 when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in Ukraine. The war has resulted in significant casualties, and former U.S. President Donald Trump, along with several European nations, is pushing for a peace deal to end the conflict.
