Tactical operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight individuals suspected of being involved in multiple cult-related killings around Yaba College of Technology and its surrounding areas.
The operation, which took place on April 29, 2025, was intelligence-led, according to the police. A Beretta pistol, four 9mm cartridges, one additional cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses were recovered from the suspects.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed that investigations are still ongoing to uncover the full extent of their involvement in cult-related activities. He reassured the public that the suspects will face the full force of the law.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the tactical teams and Eko Strike Force for their swift and effective operation. He also urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. Jimoh reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in the state.
