Cassie Testifies in Diddy’s Federal Trial
Sean “Diddy” Combs is at the center of a major criminal trial in New York, with his former partner, singer Cassie Ventura, accusing him of rape and years of abuse throughout their decade-long relationship.
Ventura testified in court that Combs raped her in 2018 and subjected her to ongoing emotional and physical abuse. She also alleged he coerced her into disturbing drug-fueled sex events known as “Freak Offs.”
$20 Million Settlement Confirmed
Although Ventura filed a civil lawsuit in November 2023, the case was settled just one day later with a $20 million payout from Combs. Despite this, Combs publicly denied all allegations at the time.
However, Ventura’s recent testimony marks the first time she is speaking about the abuse in a courtroom, saying she chose to testify to confront the truth and “stop protecting” Combs.
Diddy Faces Felony Charges
Sean Combs has pleaded not guilty to five felony charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. If convicted, the music mogul could face life imprisonment.
The trial, which began earlier this week, is expected to run for up to two months, with more testimonies and evidence expected to emerge.
