Diddy Seeks Trump’s Pardon Following Prostitution Conviction
Incarcerated hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking a presidential pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump, according to his legal team. This comes just months before his sentencing date in October.
Lawyer Confirms Conversations with Trump Team
Diddy’s attorney, Nicole Westmoreland, confirmed in an interview with CNN that efforts are underway to secure a pardon.
“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” Westmoreland stated.
The move follows Diddy’s conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, a federal offense that carries up to 10 years in prison per count.
Trump: “Not Inclined” to Grant Pardon
Despite the legal team’s outreach, Donald Trump has expressed reluctance to grant a pardon.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmax, the president acknowledged past interactions with the music mogul but pointed to political tensions:
“I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great, and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”
When asked if he was likely to reject the pardon request, Trump replied:
“I would say so, yeah.”
Diddy Acquitted of Trafficking, But Faces Lengthy Sentence
While Diddy was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, he was found guilty on two prostitution-related counts. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3, 2025, and he faces a potential 20-year sentence if the judge enforces the maximum penalty.
