Popular Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has initiated legal proceedings against fellow actress Queeneth Hilbert, accusing her of defamation and seeking ₦100 million in damages.
Etiko alleges that Queeneth falsely tarnished her reputation with damaging accusations and has demanded a public apology. The controversy erupted on March 6, 2025, when Queeneth took to Instagram, accusing Destiny of using manipulative tactics for financial gain and of having a romantic relationship with a man named Tony from Benin.
In a widely circulated video, Queeneth claimed, “It has come to my notice that you, Destiny, think it’s all about running around and unfollowing me. It all started on the set of Cubana Babes. Once she sees you have a close relationship with someone financially stable, she tries to snatch them.”
She further alleged that Destiny exaggerated financial transactions, saying, “They give you ₦200,000, and you increase it to ₦1 million.”
Responding swiftly, Destiny, popularly known as Drama Doll, denied the allegations and posted a legal notice on her Instagram page on Saturday. Her legal team insists that Queeneth’s statements were an attempt to damage her image and mislead the public.
The notice outlines strict demands, including a retraction of the statements on all social media platforms within 48 hours and a public apology. Failure to comply could lead to a full-scale lawsuit.
The legal notice reads in part:
“Cease and desist from publishing, disseminating, and making any further false and defamatory statements about our client.”
“A retraction of the derogatory publication not later than 48 hours from the receipt of this letter and an apology published on the same platform used in disseminating the defamatory statement.”
“Payment of ₦100,000,000 (One hundred million Naira) as damages for the malicious publication made against our client.”
The situation continues to unfold, with fans and industry insiders closely watching how the legal battle between the two actresses will play out.
