Davido reacts to alleged $50,000 wedding planning debt, calls claim crazy

Famous Nigerian Afrobeats star, Davido, has reacted to reports linking him to an alleged $50,000 unpaid wedding planning debt, describing the claim as crazy.

The singer made the remark on Sunday evening after the allegation went viral on social media.

According to reports circulating online, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, CEO of the event planning company reportedly in charge of Davido and Chioma’s wedding, allegedly called out the singer over an unpaid balance.

The viral post was accompanied by screenshots of an alleged chat conversation in which the event planner was seen demanding payment and threatening legal action if the debt was not settled.

The claim immediately sparked widespread reactions, with many social media users expressing surprise, considering the scale and grandeur of Davido and Chioma’s wedding, which was one of the most talked-about celebrity ceremonies in Nigeria.

Reacting to the development on X (formerly Twitter), Davido dismissed the allegation, describing it as unbelievable.

He wrote:

“This is just crazy atp (at this point).”

As of the time of filing this report, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe has not issued an official public statement confirming the alleged debt or addressing the screenshots making the rounds online.
